Rick Ellison announces he is a candidate for County Commissioner in the 3rd District Post 1 presently held by Wendell Holt. Rick is no new comer to this position. He served 2 terms under the previous 2 administrations.
Rick's wife, Debbie Ellison, owns and operates Debbie's Hair Salon. They have two daughters. Lindsay is a paramedic and Ashley is a RN. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Ellison. He has 2 brothers. Johnny is the pastor of Clay Creek Baptist Church. Mike, who served as Road Commissioner in the 3rd district 4 years ago. When together they were able to get so much road paving done. Rick himself worked as a paramedic for nearly 30 years at the County's Ambulance before becoming disabled. Rick said he decided to run for this position due to the urging of people from all over the county, not just the 3rd District. It appears that the people are dissatisfied with the representation of our present commissioner. When I served in this position the 3rd District got city water run all the way down Hwy 160 to Centerview School, up Lonesome Pine Road, up Joe Reed Road. Down Bybee Road, out Airport Hwy, Holt Town Road and on to Paint Pleasant Community. Our receation program, Ruritan Club and Volunteer Fire departments all received funding. I fought to get the funding to pave all the roads that were paved during the terms that I served. Now it appears that most of the 3rd District has been forgotten. I invite you to check my voting record on wasteful and unnecessary spending. Then count our present Commissioner's voting record. You'll find that not only did he vote yes but he usually was making or seconding the motions to waste you tax dollars. Remember that he fought for nearly 73 cents tax increase. Then he made the motion for a wheel tax. When that didn't work he was one of the ringleaders that tried to go through Nashville and force the wheel tax on you anyway. If elected I will work with everyone to help improve our community. Things will never change as long as the people keep voting employees of the County back into these positions. They make the decisions for your tax dollars. I ask you, where do you think the money is going to be spent? I promise you that I will not be a "yes" man. I will fight to make badly needed improvements in the 3rd District. I know we need good paying jobs. How do you expect any until changes are made? I also pledge to vote "NO" on any "tax increases". I believe these things can be done with wise and smart decision making. Not raising property taxes! I will appreciate your vote and support. Remember, "Vote Rick Ellison" for your 3rd District Post 1 County Commissioner.
