James Steppe, age 78, of Parrottsville, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2007, at his home. He was a member of Clay Creek Baptist Church where he served as deacon for over 32 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and had retired from Wall Tube. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Shirley Douglas Steppe, of Parrottsville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rena and Kenny McEntire, of Royalton, Ohio, and Sarah and Bob Smith, of Parma, Ohio; brother, Fred Steppe, of Greeneville; nine nieces and nephews, special great-nieces and nephews, Thomas, Meghan, Heath, Savannah, Desirah, Bryson, Taylor, Rachael, Rebecca, Madaya, Danasia, and Roribeth. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Ellison officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
