Died: 09-02-2002 Born to Frederick Senft Fisher and Fanny Stokely Fisher in Newport, TN. Graduate of Mars Hill College. World War II veteran. Married August 18, 1948 to Mary Katherine Veltman. Moved to Central Florida in 1950 to pursue a career in the citrus industry. Returned to East Tennessee in 1999.
Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Mary Katherine Fisher; son, Frederick Stewart Fisher.
Survived by his wife; sister, Ann Fisher Stanley; son, John Stokely Fisher, Jr. and his wife, Wanda Swidzinski Fisher and their children, Laurel Faye and Merissa Anne; also daughter, Frances Fisher Chandler and her husband, Robert Bruce Chandler and their daughter, Janet Ann; daughter-in-law, Catherine Marie Fisher and her children, Justin Stewart, Christopher Frederick, and Jonathan Philip.
The Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church of Newport in the Church Chapel with Rev. Freddrick Long officiating.
The family will receive friends following the Memorial Service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
