MINNICH, BOYD ROGER - age 82, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2001, at U. T. Medical Center. He was a life long member of Watkins Chapel Church. He was a unique individual, dedicated to his family, he lived life to its fullest, and his memories will be cherished by all. He was retired from the State of Tennessee Highway Department, was a former member of Hamblen County Planning Commission, currently a member of the Tax Equalization Board, current Commissioner of South Witt Utility District, and a life member of V.F.W. Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Maude Minnich, and sister-in-law, Jackie Minnich.
Survivors: wife of 54 years, Irene Minnich; daughters and sons-in-law, Archie and Linda Cantwell, Dean and Patty Lawson, and Chris and Judge Eugene Siler of Williamsburg, Ky.; sons and daughters-in-law, Boyd Roger, Jr. and Charlotte Minnich of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and Mike and Donna Minnich of Morristown; grandchildren, Chris and Brian Minnich of Mt. Sterling, Ky., Gene and Adam Siler, Carrie and Ashley Cantwell, Matt and Kendall Lawson, and Andy and John Minnich; one great-granddaughter; brother, Bobby R. Minnich of Morristown. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Fred Lehrer officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Watkins Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to Watkins Chapel Cemetery Fund or Trinity Building Fund. Mayes Mortuary, is in charge of arrangements.
