Rudolph Harding Douglass, age 92 of Sevierville, passed away Thursday July 4, 2013 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was a member of First Baptist Church Sevierville for 77 years. He married the love of his life, Mellie Reed Douglass in 1941. He was a staff sergeant in the Army from 1943-1946. He led the reconnaissance prior to the invasion of Normandy on D-Day. He was employed with Cash Hardware of Sevierville for 58 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mellie Reed Douglass, infant daughter Patricia Douglass, parents, L.M. and Hattie Douglass, five brothers and two sisters.

Grandchildren and spouses: Mista and Brian Asbury of Los Angeles, CA, Doug and Sherry Hamby of Rochelle, IL, Stacey and Richie Hicks of Las Vegas, NV

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hyder and Rev. Tony McCandless officiating.
