Since then, she has had many different job responsibilities ranging from secretary to office manager to executive assistant. As she continued her work the technology was changing. Her years of service were adding up while her job skills were becoming outdated. Shorter recognized this. Last year she completed Excel I, II, and III courses and this year achieved certification from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture in Category 7 Pest and Termite Control.
