DIXON, DWIGHT AMOS, II - age 33 of the Karns Community, passed away January 12, 2001 at 5:02 p.m. Central Time at Vanderbilt University Hospital from toxic pneumonia as a complication following a bone marrow transplant for Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. Member of Bell's Campground Baptist Church. Graduate of Karns High School & Pellissippi State Community College. Employed by DENSO Manufacturing. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Burke & Winona Gordon; paternal grandfather, Walter Dixon; cousin, Preston Malone; aunt, Fannie Arthur; uncle, Kelly Patton.
Survived by parents, Dwight I & Evelyn Dixon; paternal grandmother, Addie Dixon; sisters & brothers in law, Cheryl & Jim Parks and Rochelle & Mike Hopkins; nephew, Ryan Hopkins; nieces, Cidney Hopkins and Emily & Natalie Parks; many other loving cousins , aunts, uncles, treasured friends and special co workers. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Monday at Weaver's Chapel with the service to follow at 8 p.m. Rev. Jack Anderson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Sevierville for a 2 p.m. graveside service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Bell's Campground Baptist Church Building Fund, 7816 Bell's Campground R., Powell, Tenn. 37849.
