HALE, ALLEN AUBRA - age 92, of Newport passed away Sunday morning at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. Allen was a member of First Christian Church of Newport where he served as church treasurer for 22 years. He retired from A.C. Lawrence after 36 years of service and worked at Merchant Planters Bank for 16 years. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Carty and Susie (Runyan) Hale. He is survived by wife of 68 years, Nannie (Gray) Hale of Newport; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Shirley Hale of Oak Ridge; sister, Bessie Ailey of Newport; brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Lucy Hale of Newport; also several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday night 6-8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Graveside service 10 a.m. Tuesday Union Cemetery. Rev. Ed Hardison will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Christian Church or charity of choice. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
