Floyd Garver, age 78, of Cosby, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006. He was a member of Garver Chapel Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army, during WWII. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Stapelton and grandson, Shawn Garver; parents, Newt and Nancy Garver; sisters, Ola V. Phillips and Eva Hoglan; brother, Walter Garver. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elsie Garver; son, Tim Garver; daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Kenny Cody; grandsons, David Cody and wife April, Timbo Garver; great-grandchildren, Kenny and Kurry Cody and Mariah and Bo Garver; special cousin Lennie Garver; sisters, Joyce Parton, Nina Phillips, Jettie McKeehan, Betha Williamson and husband Ferman; brothers, Thad Garver and wife Velma, Phillip Garver and wife Tommie, Lemuel Garver and wife Jenita. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Thursday, April 6, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Graydon Mathis, Rev. Gary Henderson and Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Friday, April 7, 2006 in Union Cemetery, with L/Cpl Charles C. Roberts DAV Chapter 102 conducting military rites. Pallbearers will be, Bill Williamson, Bill Jenkins, Dewey Giles, Mike Parton, Carlos Galdamez and Tommy Sutton. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
