Gilbert Andrew Rader, age 86, of Parrottsville, died Monday, February 3, 2003 at the V.A. Medical Center in Johnson City.
He was a veteran of World War II, where as a PFC he served in Co. D, 759th military police battalion, US Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Maggie Rader; brothers, Alvin and Robert Rader; and sisters, Marie Rader and Alma Dell Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Rader, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Betty Rader, of Greeneville; daughters and sons-in-law: Shirley and Norman Ricker, of Greeneville, and Carol and David Fox, of Newport; brother, Clyde Rader, of Parrottsville; grandchildren and spouses: Timmy and Janelle Fox, Davy and Margie Fox, Gina and Chad Crum, Andy and Melissa Ricker, Marsha and Josh Parkins, Jennifer and Travis Crum, Kevin and Amber Rader; grandchildren, Leann and Brittany Rader; great-grandchildren: Steven, Matthew, Tara, and Trent Fox, Austin and Carlee Crum, Ashton and Victor Ricker, Taylor-Jay Parkins, Neal Parkins, Jordan Crum, and Mckenzie Rader.
And also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Young officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Manes Funeral Home.
Interment will follow the services in the Harned Chapel Church Cemetery.
Manes Funeral Home, Inc., Newport, is in charge of the arrangements.
