A resident of Baker and born March 16, 1932, in Sevierville, Tenn., to Kimsey and Mintha Whaley , he died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010. Survived by his wife, Jean Toler Whaley ; three sons, David Whaley , New Orleans, Paul Whaley and wife Darlene and their sons, Nicholas and David, all of Clinton, and John Whaley and wife Mimi and their children, Jacob, Cameron and Ashley, all of Gatlinburg, Tenn. Also survived by sisters, Illa Bogle and Winnie Burns Wilson, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Faye Newman, Etowah, Tenn.; brother, Paul Whaley and wife Betty, of Talbot, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Sue Whaley , Cosby, Tenn.; special brothers-in-law, Jim Bogle , Paul Burns and James Wilson. Preceded in death by brothers, Zell, Dot Roy, his twin, Bon, and Gene Whaley . After retiring from Dow Chemical, he enjoyed wood carving and craft shows. He served in the U.S. Air Force at Randolph Field School of Aviation Medicine during the Korean War. Memorial service to be held at a later date. Arrangements by Renaissance Services Inc., Gonzales.
