U.S. Veteran Kermit E. Lee, age 85, of Newport, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 at Newport Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was a resident of Wellington Place in Newport, TN. He was a WWII veteran, having retired from the U S Army, with over 20 years. He was a member of Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Lee. He is survived by his son, Richard Lee of Orlando, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Emily and George Oakley of Caselberry, Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Juanita Lee of Parrottsville, Bob and Sylvia Lee of Greenville, South Carolina; sisters, Helen Bush and Betty Aileen Menzies and husband Bill all of Newport; nephews, Steve Mitchell, Burton Lee, and George Lee; nieces, Tina Wilson, Deborah Boyd and Bonnie Bishop; also other family and friends. Graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad officiating. There will be full military honors at the graveside service. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home.
