Rye Woodward Parks, age 95, life long resident of Del Rio, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at his home. He retired from A.C. Lawrence Leather Company and also farmed. Mr. Parks was very much loved by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Shelton Parks (mother of his son Y.J.), and second wife, Alice Miller Parks; parents, Robert (Bob) Johnson Parks and Margaret (Mag) Suggs Parks; brothers, Monroe (Roe), Bascom, Anderson, Fred, Arnold and Tyson Parks; sister, Gladys Parks Boone; step daughter, Billie Jo Miller Suggs. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Y. J. and Elizabeth Ann Parks, of Del Rio; grandsons, Roger Allen Parks and wife Debbie Pierce Parks, Mitchell Lee Parks and wife Debbie Graves Parks, all of Greeneville; step-grandson, Steven Suggs and wife Kristie of Newport, great-grandsons, Tyler Braden Parks, Thomas Bradley Parks; step-great grandsons, Kevin Malone and David Malone and wife Sonya all of Greeneville; sister, Lula Henry of Parrottsville; also numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Friday, June 4, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Arthur Willis officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 5, 2010 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Manning Chapel Baptist Church, 2022 E. Highway 25/70, Del Rio, TN 37727.
