U.S. Veteran Charles Frederick (Freddy) Taylor, age 74, of Newport, entered his heavenly home on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force, a seventeen year employee of the Tennessee Highway Patrol and a retiree of Consolidated Pipe and Supply Company in Nashville and Knoxville. Freddy was preceded in death by his parents, Murray Taylor and Viola (Layman) Taylor Boley; step-father, Lloyd Boley; brothers, Cecil “Buddy” Taylor, Johnny Taylor, infant Jack Taylor and step-brother, Jimmy Lynn Boley, a nephew Robert Franklin Taylor; former in-laws Frank and Cleo (Carlisle) Huff of Del Rio, brother-in-law, Johnny Ellison of Newport and companion Nan (Harrison) Hyed of Atlanta, Georgia. Fred is survived by his only child, daughter Susan J. Taylor and son-in-law, Keith Husted of Del Rio; two sisters-in-law, Louise Taylor and Maxine Taylor of Newport; step-brother Dan Boley (Wanda) of Reedville, VA; two step-sisters, June Wiand (Paul) of Johnstown, PA, Catherine Mitchell (Larry) of Huddleston, VA and their families. He is also survived by his special niece Sharon Taylor-Manning (Dexter) of Sevierville, nephew, Terry Taylor (Theresa Mims) of Dandridge, brother-in-law Stephen Huff (Amy), niece Jessie Huff and nephew Justin Thomas of Newport, sister-in-law Jessie Watts (Gary), Jane Cureton (Bill) of Newport and their family, Betty Ann Huff and former wife Mary Jo (Huff) Taylor of Del Rio, great nephew Nathan Manning (Jessica) of Jefferson City and Taylor Manning of Johnson City. A special friend he considered as another daughter, Cindy Davis Witham (David) of Nashville, special care-giver Lisa Holt of Del Rio and very special friends, David Keck and Ed Hodge of Knoxville, Gene Blanton, Ben Haynes, and Clint Hamrick of Nashville, Edward Blair of Carthage,TN, and Tom O’Dell, D. C. Ramsey, Conchita Austin, Lois and Conway Wilson, Anna Ruth Dean, Bill Gunter, Dan Metcalf, Cheryl Grooms, Vanda Knowles, Harry Melton all of Newport,TN, Gordon and Janice Sexton of Del Rio and Eddie and Carolyn Yoakley of Greeneville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 7, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Manes Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Scott Gorrell at 1 p m on Wednesday May 8, 2013 in Union Cemetery.
