CARLISLE, WILLIE SCOTTIE - age 96, of Newport, died October 24, 1998, at the Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. Born February 15, 1902, the daughter of the late John G.S. Clark and Katherine Jane Self Clark. She was reared in the Del Rio Community of Cocke County and was the wife of the late Leslie D. Carlisle. She was a member of the Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Rebeca Jane Ford. She is survived by her three daughters, Cleo Huff of Del Rio, Audra Ford and Mary Branum and son-in-law, Floyd A. Branum, all of Newport; grandchildren, Betty Ann Huff, Mary Jo Taylor, Jane Cureton, Jessie Lee Ellison, Stephen Huff, Gary F. Ford, Mary Alice Miller, Jamie Kridler, Julie Tritt and Sandra Knight; great-grandchildren, Susan Taylor-Mathis, Todd and Katherine Cureton, Molly Ford, Cheyenne Miller, Britani, Houston, Clark, and Sabrini Kridler and Sarah Tritt. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Manes Funeral Home with the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Robert Walker and David Green officiating. The burial will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Clark Cemetery at the Deep Gap Church in Del Rio. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
