James A. Manis, 86, of Gatlinburg, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center.
During World War II James served his country as a Sea Bee in the Navy. James was also a longtime member of the Glades Lebanon Baptist Church.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William and Caldonia Ogle Manis; children, Betty Jo and Eddie Manis; brothers, Luther, Sam and Roscoe Manis; sisters, Flora Reagan, Louise Shults and Myrtle Brackins.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Reagan Manis; children, J.D. Manis, Roy Manis and wife Nancy, Donald Manis and wife Peggy, Larry Manis, Jerry Manis and wife Connie; grandchildren, Barbara Reagan, Debbie Wear, David Manis, Donald Manis, Lisha Robertson, Melody Manis; great grandchildren, Rodney Shelton, Rachel Turner, Jonathan and Joshua Reagan, Mitchell Manis, Roy and Timothy Robertson and Taylor Manis; great great granddaughter, Hayley Reagan. Besides the immediate family many relatives and a host of friends whose life he has touched will miss James.
Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2003 at Glades Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. Dee Wilson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Glades Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
