He bravely served his country in the Navy as a Boatsman on the U.S.S. England during the Viet Nam War. He worked as a brick mason in Powell for many years. He loved working on Volkswagon beetle bugs, carving wood and taking care of his garden. He is preceded in death by parents, Lloyd and Della Myers. He is survived by daughters, Erica Hansard and Lorraine Linkous; grandchildren: Jacob, Anna, and Westin Hansard and Graciella Linkous; brothers: Donald and Ronald Myers; sisters: Geraldine Daniels and Nancy Holt plus many nephews, nieces and cousins. Family and friends will meet Thursday, March 26 at 1:15 pm for the funeral service at 1:30 pm Thursday in the Rotunda of the Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery with full military honors to follow. Honorary pallbearers: Fred Myers, Johnny Myers, Ralph Myers, Robert Hansard, Greg Linkous and Ronnie Holt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: P.O. Box 18312, Knoxville, TN 37928.
