GRUBB, RUBY BREEDEN - age 84, of South Knoxville, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Williamsburg Villas. Ruby was born on May 22, 1926 in Sevierville, Tennessee. She was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. In her later years, she attended Meridian Baptist Church with her dear friend, Catherine Burns. Ruby retired from Bell South with over 35 years of service. She was a member of Councils of Tennessee Chapter #21 Telephone Pioneers of America. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lennis H. Grubb; parents, Crawford and Nora Rauhuff; and brother, Shirley Breeden. She is survived by her son Steven and wife Patricia Grubb of Knoxville; grandsons Kevin Martin of Asheville, North Carolina and Nick Grubb of Knoxville; sister, Hazel Harrison; beloved niece, Tina King; and a host of nieces and nephews she loved dearly. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Williamsburg Villas for their support and care for Ruby. Her gentle spirit rests in the arms of the Heavenly Spirit. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association . Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday at 2:00 PM for graveside services, Rev. Dana Fachman officiating.
