He was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Ivan H. McCarter and grandfather, Eugene Brooks. Survivors Survivors include his wife, Trula McCarter; mother, Gwen McCarter; brother, Craig McCarter; grandmother, Keeble Brooks; step-children, Michael Shannon, David Shannon, and Julia Brackett; children, Joshua McCarter, David McCarter, and Nathaniel McCarter; half brother, Buster McCarter; half sisters, Kathy McCarter and Jeanie Greene; grandchildren, Cameron Shannon, Mikayla Porass, and Lestat McCarter; and special friend, David Rowe. Service A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with Rev. Joel Tilson officiating from New Hopewell Baptist Church.
