December 23, 1952 - May 17, 2017
Born in Sevier County
Resided in Sevierville, TN
Janie Margaret Sanders , 64 of Sevierville passed peacefully to her heavenly home to be with her Lord on Wednesday the 17th of May.
Momma was a pleasant loving woman who believed in extending compassion and kindness to others. Momma loved her family and was a blessing to have to all of us. She was a member of Richardson Cove Baptist Church, although for most of her life she attended Laurel Branch Baptist Church in Pittman Center.
She was raised in Pittman Center and the Richardson Cove community by her daddy and momma, Dean and Lena Whaley Campbell. Momma loved growing up "on the river" and in the cove community with her sisters, Zana and Sandra and often spoke with an affectionate smile when remembering memories created with her family.
Momma met our dad, Herman Sanders, while working as a server in Gatlinburg at Smokey's Restaurant during the summer of 1968. Dad and momma would later marry and would raise three children during their 47 years of marriage.
Janie was preceded in death by her daddy the late James Dean Campbell of Sevierville, grandparents Richard and Leola Lindsey Whaley, George Albert and Frannie Zeomie McMahan Campbell of Sevierville, mother-in-law Lona Mae Trentham of Gatlinburg, nephew Doug Sanders and sister-in-law Shirley Moore both of Sevierville.
Janie is survived by her husband Herman Sanders, her children son Andrew Sanders, daughters Polly Sanders, Melissa and Joe Galentine and two beautiful granddaughters which momma adored Amber and Laurel Galentine, her momma Lena Whaley Campbell, sisters Sandra Campbell, Zana and Bob Sluss of Sevierville, nephew Michael and Sara Sluss of Chattanooga, brother-in-law Donald Sanders, niece Angie Sanders of Sevierville, brother/sister- in- law Pleas and Louise Sanders Proffitt, niece Debbie Proffitt, nephew Pleas and Micki Proffitt of Gatlinburg, momma's precious fur-baby Poncho, as well as, several great nieces and nephews.
Momma is already greatly missed by her family, however, it's a tremendous comfort in knowing that momma's physical struggles and burdens have now ended. Knowing she is back with her daddy again and is enjoying an eternal life and new body free from pain in the presence of the Lord, will help continue to bring peace to all of us during the difficult days and years to come.
"We love you MOSTEST!"
The family will receive friends 4-6 PM Thursday with a memorial service to follow at 6 PM at Richardson's Cove Baptist Church with Dr. David Ayers officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
