Laura Isabell Oakley Trentham, a Gatlinburg native who, along with her husband, opened one of the first motels in the tourism town, died Saturday at Sevier County Nursing Home. She was 95. Mrs. Trentham and her husband, the late Everett Trentham, established one of Gatlinburg's first motels 47 years ago when they opened Everett's Court. Mrs. Trentham grew up in the Twin Creek area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and was the first president of the Gatlinburg Garden Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gatlinburg. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville with burial to follow in White Oak Flats Cemetery in Gatlinburg.
