U.S. Veteran Roy Dunn Wilson, age 80, passed away at his home, Saturday, February 7, 2015. Roy was of the Baptist Faith. Roy graduated from Townsend High School in 1952. Served 2 years in the US Army from 1954 to1956, and made his home in Long Beach, California for 23 years. He worked for Arrowhead Bottle Water Co, and transferred to Ozarka Water Co. in Houston, TX for 12 years, retired in 1991 after 35 years with Arrowhead Bottle Water Co. Roy was an avid gardener. Preceded in death by his beloved father, Roy Lee Wilson; mother, Mae D. Wilson; grandmother, Joah “Joy” Headrick Dunn; uncle, Bryson “Doc” Dunn; sister-in-law, Diane Wilson; and his K-9 best friend, Millie. Survived by his wife, Polly Boring Wilson; sister, Phyllis (Franklin) Herron; brothers, Don (Wilma) Wilson, Mike (Sheila) Wilson, Jack (Ann) Wilson, and Jerry Wilson; nieces, Wendy Wilson (Lee McCoy), Cissy Wilson, Donna Wilson, Dusty (Mark Curry) all of Maryville, Lena (Tony Lewis) of Houston, Texas, Jennie (Gary Graham) of Clouis, California; nephews, Frank (Shirra) Herron of Houston, Texas, Tim (Becky) Wilson, Dana (Angela) Wilson of Maryville, Duane (Laura) Wilson of Walland, twins, Jerry and Terry Wilson of Palm Springs California; great-nieces, Abby McCammon, Bailey Tipton, Riley Hicks, Katie Wilson, Amelia Wilson, all of Maryville, Hillary (Ben) Sentell of Memphis, Tennessee, Lacy Lewis of Houston, Texas; great-great-niece Andie McCammon; great-nephews, Z Wilson of Walland, Gunner Curry of Maryville, Tanner Lewis, Josh Herron, Pierce Herron of Houston Texas; several special cousins and friends. The family wishes to thank Blount Memorial Hospice for their care and kindness. Special thanks to Wendy Wilson and Julie Murr always on call 24/7. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Blount Memorial Hospice, or the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, with interment service to follow at Grandview Cemetery, Elder Rick Boring officiating.
