Samuel Marion Latham, age 85 of Sevierville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 28, 2001. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Mr. Latham was retired from Sevier County Electric System after 29 years of service and was a member of Mountain Star Masonic Lodge 197 of Sevierville. He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Michael and Mary Jane Hembree Latham, brother Clarence, Harris and Edmund Latham , and sisters Lela Stormer and Marie Bain.
Survivors: Wife of 64 years: Blanche Ogle Latham Son and daughter-in-law: Charles (Chuck) and Barbara Latham, Sevierville Grandsons: Steve Latham and wife Libby, Sevierville Mark Latham and wife Susan, Sevierville Great-grandchildren: Shane Latham Bracken and Breanna Scott Brothers: Joe Latham and wife Carolyn Rev. Alvin Latham and wife Ruth Sisters: Helen Bales Faye Fast Ruth Maughan Sisters-in-law: Lena Latham Irene Latham Tisha Latham Many nieces and nephews Special nieces: Judy Edmisten and Barbara Atchley Great-nieces: Sara and Haley Atchley.
Funeral service 7:30 PM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. David Knight officiating and eulogy by Mark Latham. Interment 12 o’clock noon Sunday in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30- 7:30 PM Saturday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
