VEAL, KAYE FRANKLIN - age 60, died Thursday, November 2, 2000. Member of Central Baptist Church of Bearden. Retired award winning journalist having worked for the Knoxville News Sentinel for over 20 years. Member of PEO, active alumni of Alpha Zeta Delta Sorority which she helped found at the University of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by parents, Chester Arthur and Gladys Sherrod Franklin of Jefferson City.
Survivors: sons, Louis Veal, III, of Townsend, Richard Sterling Veal, of Knoxville; daughter and son in law, Lee Veal Berry and husband, John F. Berry, Jr. of New Market; grandson, Jack Berry, of New Market; brothers and sisters in law, Edgar and Alison Franklin and Art and Brenda Franklin, all of Memphis; niece, Kristi Franklin; nephews, Eddie and Greg Franklin; several great nieces and nephews. Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Dr. Larry Fields officiating. Family and Friends will meet at Westview Cemetery at Jefferson City at 10:45 a.m. Monday for an 11 a.m. graveside and interment service. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
