• Notes

  Religion: Methodist Letch was a graduate of Cullowhee State Normal School and had lived in Haywood County since 1906. Letch was employed by Champion Papers from 1906 until 1957 as Paymaster and at the time of his retirement was Supervisor of Time-keeping. He was Treasurer of the Champion Credit Union from 1932 to 1957 and served as President of Canton Savings and Loan Association from 1932 until 1972, when he was named President-Emeritus. Letch was a former Alderman of the Town of Canton and a member of the Haywood County Board of Education. He and Viola were members of the Bethel Methodist Church and he served in various church offices. He was also a member of the Sonoma Lodge No. 472, AF & AM.
