  Silas was born about three years after the arrival of his parents from Edgefield District, South Carolina. Silas Huskey is mentioned as a chain carrier for a number of land entries in the Surveyor's Book No. 1 of Sevier County, Tennessee. Silas Huskey and his wife left Sevier County, Tennessee prior to 1830 for Missouri. They are listed in the 1830 Federal Census of Jefferson County, Missouri.
