HOLLAND, ANNA MARGARET (IVENS) - age 90, went to be with the Lord from Park West Hospital on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 11:10 a.m. surrounded by much of her family. Mrs. Holland was a lifelong Christian and has been a member of the Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle since 1956 but has been in declining health for a number of years. Mrs. Holland was born to M. J. And Lilly May Hensley Ivens on October 29, 1919 in Monroe County, Tennessee. Mrs. Holland attended Draughon's Business College in Knoxville, Tennessee after she graduated from high school. After obtaining her Office Administrative degree, she worked in the business world for a number of years in this profession. After marrying David Shields Holland of Kingston, Tennessee they established a residence in Oak Ridge, Tennessee where Mr. Holland engaged in Public Accounting for the United States Government at Oak Ridge during World War II. While residing there, Mr. And Mrs. Holland gave birth to Knoxville Lawyer Robert S. Holland and several years later to Knoxville Lawyer J. Terry Holland. After returning to work, Mrs. Holland entered the profession of General Life Insurance agent with a General Insurance Contract representing first Mutual of Omaha and later United American Life Insurance Company with home offices in Houston, Texas. From that point until her retirement Mrs. Holland received numerous accolades including Life Underwriting Training Counsel Certification and earned membership, annually, as the most productive Sales Agent and Agency for the companies she represented. After initial retirement, Mrs. Holland owned a Knoxville dress shop known as Encore Boutique and for many years thereafter engaged in other business interests. Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her mother and father, four brothers, Luther M. Ivens, of Vancouver, Washington, Robert M. Ivens of Johnson City, Tennessee, Emerson F. (Red) Ivens of Anderson County, Tennessee, and Glen Ivens of Madisonville, Tennessee as well as three sisters, Reba Ivens, Jewell Ivens and Helen Ivens all of Knoxville, Tennessee. Mrs. Holland is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Attorney Robert Shield Holland and wife Mary S. Holland, as well as Attorney J. Terry Holland and wife Linda M. Holland all of Knoxville, Tennessee. Mrs. Holland's grandchildren are John Michael Holland and wife Donna, Attorney Shannon M. Holland, as well as Linda Ann Bradshaw and husband Todd, David Terry Holland and wife Rachel, Pamala Lynne Holland all of Knoxville and Carolyn Elizabeth Hyde and husband John, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Holland's remaining siblings consist of brother, Reid Ivens and wife Virginia as well as sister, Dr. Mary Sue Ivens, all of Maryville, Tennessee. Special cousins include Onnibe Ivens Logan, Geneva Ivens Reno, and Bob Ivens all of Blount County and numerous nieces and nephews.
