Miles B. McMahan III ( Beetle) died from Acute Myelomic Leukemia at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee on May 30, 2004.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sevierville.
“Beetle” was a 1969 graduate of Sevier County High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee.
“Beetle” was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Trotter McMahan and his grandparents.
Survivors include his father, M.B. McMahan, Jr.; Aunts, Dr. Betty June Trotter and Katie McMahan; Uncle, Chandler McMahan; first cousins, Virginia Trotter Betts, Jim Trotter, Sr., Bob Trotter, Gayle McMahan Sibbs, Chandler McMahan, Jr., Renee McMahan Dutton; numerous second and third cousins and many dear and loyal friends.
In honor of his request he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004 at Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevierville with Robert Ownby, Frank Kalinski and the Rev. Larry Trotter officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004.
Interment will follow the service at Shiloh Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the E.M. Jellinik Center at 130 Hinton Street, Knoxville, Tn 37917.
