Knaffl Whaley, 91, of Sevierville went home to be with his Lord and the other loved ones that are waiting for him in heaven. Knaffl began his journey November 24, 2002 at Sevier County Health Care Center.Mr. Whaley was a retired deacon at Oak City Baptist Church where he was a lifetime member as well as the oldest member.His granddaughter, Kathy Whaley; brothers, Dot and Clell Whaley preceded Knaffl in death.He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Zaley A. Huskey Whaley; children, Kenneth Whaley and wife Lois, Roy Whaley and wife Anna, Earnestine Ann Romines and husband Harry; sister, Agnes Ogle and husband Hansel; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Besides the immediate family many relatives and friends whose lives he has touched in so many ways during his lifetime will miss Knaffl.Service will be 8 p.m. Monday, November 25 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Fleeger and Rev. Jeff Hickman officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 26 at Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday preceding the service at Rawlings Funeral Home.The grandsons, Steve, Billy, Roger, Rick, David and David are honored to be pallbearers for their beloved grandpa.www.rawlingsfuneralhome.com.
