BURRESS, KOLNER - age 78, of Dandridge, formerly of Knoxville, went to be with Jesus Wed. afternoon, March 29, 2000 following an extended illness. He was the last surviving member of the late Mark & Mary Phillips Burress family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Reagan Burress; an infant son; son, Mark Burress; & 3 sisters & 4 brothers. Kolner was a member & trustee of the French Broad Baptist Church & was a member of the Charles McKinney Lodge #433 F&AM & the Knoxville Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a retired employee of the Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center.
Survivors: wife of 41 years, Pat Burress of Dandridge; son & daughter-in-law, Edward
& Cathy Burress; daughter & son-in-law, Betty & Mike Hale of Knoxville; 6 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews & many friends. Funeral services Fri. 7 p.m. at the French Broad Baptist Church with Dr. Don Heiss officiating. Interment graveside services, Sat., 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Kester Greene presiding. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that memorial be made to the French Broad Baptist Church, PO Box 1577, Dandridge, TN 37725. The family will receive friends Fri. evening 5-7 p.m. prior to services at the church. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.
