John A. Davis, 92, of Crete, IL and Celebration, FL, at rest September 24, 2009. Beloved husband of Clara Mae, beloved father of Jonelle (John) Vargo, Cherry (Tom) Householder and Debbie (Kurt) Cummings. Beloved grandfather of Sean and Carrie Householder, Joy, Grace and Ruth Vargo, Christopher and Jordan Cummings. John served as Captain in the U.S.Army during WWII, graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago and went on to found three businesses with his wife; Davis Staffing Service, Davis Personnel and Davis Travel. John served as President of Rotary Club in Chicago Heights from 1975-76, and co-founded the Temporary Independents Professional Society (TIPSS) in 1978. The family will receive friends at the new Hirsch West End Chapel, 3501 W. Lincoln Hwy. (Rt. 30), Matteson, IL, on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial Service and Military Honors Tuesday, 11 a.m. at St. John’s Faith Church, 21302 Maple St., Matteson, IL. Rev. Terry Krouskoupf, Officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded through Hirsch Lain-Sullivan Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John’s name to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
