Anne Maria Lockard, 53, Peru, went to be with the Lord at 12:38 AM, Thursday, September 26, 2013 at her home. She was born in Vincenza, Italy on December 10, 1959 the daughter of retired Army MSGT Coy Huskey and Elinor Stewart, formerly of Galveston, IN, who preceded her in death.
Anne married Gary J. Lockard on January 25, 1985, who survives and currently serves in the United States Air Force at Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana.
Anne was a 1977 graduate of Lewis Cass High in Logansport, IN and attended Brooks College in Long Beach, CA and Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, studying interior design. After her marriage to Gary in 1985, in addition to being a homemaker, she was an accomplished artist in the areas of fiber arts, quilting, pen and ink drawings and oils and pastels. Her artwork won numerous awards throughout the region, including three Governor of Indiana Art Awards while exhibiting at the Indiana State Fair. Her artwork was also displayed in galleries in Indiana, Massachusetts, California and Louisiana. Photos of her artwork were also featured in various art magazines. In addition to her artwork, she played piano, sang, and played the bass guitar and wrote poetry.
Anne was a member of Walnut Creek Methodist Church in Warsaw, IN, for the past five years, She loved her flower gardens, including the wild rabbits and enjoyed her parakeets.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Anne Maria Lockard will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main Street, Peru with Pastor Steven Ailes officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home.
