Girfus Husky Richmond, 80, of Dyess died Monday, Feb. 18, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. A longtime resident of Dyess, he was of the Baptist belief. Survivors include his wife, Irene Elizabeth Richmond of Monette; four sons, Reggie Richmond of Keiser, Ronald Dwayne Richmond of Etowah, Lanny Dwight Richmond of Williford and the Rev. Lynsol Blain Richmond of Dyersburg, Tenn.; two daughters, Melissa Bennett of Strawberry and Iva Dametra Helms of Wilson; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home chapel in Lepanto, with the Rev. Lynsol Richmond officiating. Burial will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery at Lepanto. Pallbearers will be Daniel Cates, Lee Coatney, Corry Shempert, Trey Bennett, Brian Adams and Justin Richmond.
