Born Sept. 11, 1936, at Clover Bend, the son of Sid and Thelma Brand Smithee , he was a truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Garland and Leland Smithee. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Smithee of the home; three daughters, Gail (Hal) Lundy of Hoxie, Kim (Larry) Light of Alicia and Carrie (Roger) Light of Bono; his mother, Thelma Smithee of Hoxie; three grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Joshua Light and Courtney Light; one brother, Cloyce Smithee of Hoxie; three sisters, Freda Wall of St. Augustine, Fla., Sue Fallis of Ratcliff and Geraldine Rogers of Hoxie; many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be noon Friday in Mount Zion Cemetery at Walcott with David Harper officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Daniel Smith, Ronnie Light, Gary Light, Larry Jones and Terry Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Smith and Jared Williams.
