Edward Clark , 77, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at his residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Grover and Kathryn McCarson Clark and was also preceded in death by a son, Gregory Clark and a brother and sister, Frank and Helen Clark . Edward was a graduate of Fines Creek High School and served in the U.S. Air Force before going to work at Dayco where he retired with 33 years of service. He loved being home with his family and also enjoyed spending time with his friends. Edward was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and a member of the World-Wide Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years , Virginia Haynes Clark ; one son, Jeffrey Clark ; two daughters, Sharon Ort and her husband, Tom, of Shady Spring, West Virginia , and Becky Rose and her husband, David, of Clyde; two sisters, Juanita Ledford and husband, Ray, of Lake Junaluska, and Mildred Clark , of Clyde; one brother, J.C. Clark and wife , Annette, of the Fines Creek community; seven grandchildren, Cody and Casey Rose, Camille and Joshua Clark , William and Heather Ort, and Amanda Zari and her husband, Anthony; and four great-grandchildren, Emilee Jenkins, Noah Clark , and Ashton and Addison Zari.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with the Rev. Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
