Dorothy J. Perry, age 66, of Newport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16, 2016, following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank D. Perry; parents, Dorothy Barnes and Jesse James; grandparents, George and Bertha Barnes. She is survived by her children, Frankie Darrell and Angela Perry, Elizabeth Ann “Sissy” Gunter; three grandchildren who were the light and love of her life, Paige Nicole Gunter, Emily Lashea Perry and Caleb Joseph Perry; brother-in-law, John Perry; special friends, Irene Brady, Regina Sane, Dwayne Yarbrough, and Robert Gunter. She will also be missed by a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2015 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Larry Ball and Rev. Mike Hensley officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
