Charles "Buddy" Tucker , age 67, of Newport passed away Thursday, April 29, 2004 at Lakeway Regional Hospital in Morristown.
He and his wife owned and operated Tuck's Drive-In for over 30 years.
He was a strong supporter of the Democrat Party and had served as Chairman for several years. He was a member of Manning's Chapel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jeff Blackman of Newport; grandchildren, Jason Blackman and Tish Stinson, both of Newport; great-grandchildren, Paige Stinson, Megan Finchum, and John Dillon, all of Newport; several nieces and nephews; special friends, David Payne, Johnny and Charlotte Styles of Del Rio, and Sandy and Bobby Baker of Newport; also a very special friend, D.C. Ramsey, who has been with him throughout sickness and health.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Saturday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Byron Chambers and Reverend Dennis Strange officiating with burial at 2 p.m. Sunday in Burchfield Memorial Cemetery.
The family received friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the services.
