JENNIE VEE COLLINS, age 90, a resident of Jefferson County for 81 years, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2007 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born February 23, 1917 and was of the Baptist faith. She was a very special lady with a keen mind that will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Collins; daughter, Oda Vee Reagan; son, James David Collins and grandson, Richard Dennis Bell. She is survived by daughters, Betty Sane of Jefferson City and Joyce (Jerry) Shaver of White Pine; son, Donald Collins of Jefferson City; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren; brothers, Harrison Breeden, Jr. of Knoxville and George Breeden of New Market; sister, Edith Poore of New Market; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Health Care and Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2007 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Dr. Sonny Strange and Reverend Tim Collins officiating. Family and friends will gather at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 2:30 p.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Friends may call at the home of Betty Sane in Jefferson City at their convenience.
