JINKS , MILDRED L. - age 86 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away January 21st, 2012 at Brakebill Nursing Home. Mrs. Jinks was born in Knoxville to the late James and Obra Ruckart Swaggerty on February 9th, 1925. Her siblings included Ruby, James Jr., and Marie. She married Jack Jinks October 4th, 1945 in Cartersville, Georgia. They had two children, Donna and Jack Jr. Mrs. Jinks was a life-long member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church and was dear friends with the late Reverend Wayne Markham and his wife Margaret of Crossville, Tennessee. Mrs. Jinks was an amazing cook who enjoyed providing baked goods for church functions, friends, neighbors and residents of Westview Tower where she lived for ten years. Mrs. Jinks was preceded in death by her husband Jack and her sister Ruby. Mrs. Jinks is survived by James Swaggerty Jr. and his wife Lois of Powell, Marie and her husband Kenny Boling of Claxton, Donna of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, and Jack and his wife Mary of Loudon. Mrs. Jinks has two grandchildren, Richard and Phillip. Phillip and his wife Amy gave Mrs. Jinks the joys of her life, great-grandchildren AJ, Caleb and Leah. Mrs. Jinks is also survived by her stepgranddaughter Amanda and her husband Jeff Luallen of Knoxville, daughter-in-law Karen Jinks of Knoxville, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives who loved and cherished her. Special thanks to the staff of Elm Croft Assisted Living and Brakebill Nursing Home who took care of her during her last two years. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 22nd, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Highland Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 23rd, 2012 at 12:00 PM with Reverend Dr. Leonard Markham officiating. Interment Services will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, with grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews serving as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the local chapter of the American Diabetes Association, 211 Center Park Drive, Suite 3010, Knoxville, 37922 or the Senior Adults Sunday School Class at Rocky Hill Baptist Church, 7409 Northshore Drive, Knoxville, 37919.
