JARNIGAN , JERRY R. - age 59 of Dandridge, passed away suddenly, August 29, 2001. He was the son of the late, Fred and Zelma Corbett Jarnigan . He was lifelong member of the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church and the Men's Prayer Group and was employed by Magnavox and Jefferson City Cabinet Co. for over 39 years. Jerry was very active in his church and community and was always the first to volunteer and give endless hours of his time to a worthy community project. Jerry loved children of all ages and actively supported the youth of Dandridge and was instrumental in seeing that the Field of Dreams Sports complex in Dandridge became a realization. Jerry was also known for being a part of the Jefferson Co. High School Football Chain Gang for 26 years. Survivors: wife, Wilma Eslinger Jarnigan ; daughter & son in law, Tina and Gene Green; son & daughter in law, Jeff and Mindy Jarnigan ; grandchildren, Daniel, Rachel, Hannah and Kaylynn; brothers *& sisters in law, Bill & Norma Jarnigan , Murrel & Barbara Jarnigan , Earnie & Jean Jarnigan . Funeral services, Sunday, 2 p.m. at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Brewer and Rev. Steve Burkhart officiating. Interment to follow in Balch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, 1086 E. Dumplin Valley Rd., Jefferson City, Tenn. 37760 or the South Jefferson Co. Little League P.O. Box 1274, Dandridge, Tenn. 37725. Family will receive friends Saturday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.
