Mildred "Nanny" Pack , age 86, went to be with the Lord Thursday evening.
She joined her beloved husband, the late Clyde Dexter Pack in heaven.
Clyde was a former partner of Bryant & Pack Lumber Company. Born in Jefferson City, her parents were Lemuel and Mae Bear . After marrying Clyde in 1935, she called Cocke County home, living in Del Rio, Newport, West Virginia, and Parrottsville.
Wellington Place of Newport was her home during the past year. After an extended hospital stay, she was transferred to Life Care Nursing Home in Jefferson City where she died.
Preceded in death by her brother and sisters Jack Bear , Alice Southerland, Mary Ruth Sturm, Catherine Southerland, and Doris Taylor.
She is survived by her brother Floyd Bear , sister Christine Horner, along with her four loving children and their spouses Robert and Martha Pack , Carl Pack , Everette and Sandra Pack , Dwaine and Carolyn Peters. Seven grandchildren and their spouses are Robert and Susan Pack , Thomas and Robin Conway, Jeffery and Diana Pack , Michael Pack , Randall and Gina Peters, Tracy and Tammy Pack , Rob and Jill Reeves. Nine great-grandchildren are Evan, Kaitlyn, Bethany, Aaron, Jessica, Rachael, and Dakota Pack , Rachael Peters, and Hannah Reeves.
Mildred was a retired Rescue Squad Crewette and a member of Cave Hill Baptist Church. Nanny will be remembered for her home cooked meals, fresh baked cakes, pies, and cobblers, along with her deep faith in Jesus Christ.
Interment in Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Newport Rescue Squad, Keep Cocke County Beautiful, or Cave Hill Baptist Church.
