(December 19, 1940 - May 19, 2014) John J. Shoemake, age 73, of Morristown, passed away Monday May 19, 2014 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Lena Shoemake; former wife, Barbara Shoemake; brother, Jackie Shoemake; sister, Susie Dickens. He is survived by his wife, Arona Shoemake; sons, Jeff Shoemake and Chris Shoemake; step children, Terry Naillon and Dwayne Naillon; sister, Joyce Dixon; grandchildren, Erin Nolan, Erica Morgan, Sean Shoemake, Brooke Naillon and a host of other special family and friends Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday May 21, 2014 in Newport Church of Christ with Tommy Golman officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Thursday May 22, 2014 in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday at the Newport Church of Christ prior to the funeral service.
