Stair, Elpha Lawson age 90 of Mascot slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Hillcrest North. She was born September 1, 1917 near Big Creek in Sneedville, Tennessee to CB and Sarah Lawson and the last child to join them. Her passion in life was the love of her family, church and the Mine Road neighbors. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting family and friends. She was a long time member of Roseberry Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her always devoted and loving husband of 58 years, Hubert M. Stair; parents and 9 siblings. Survivors: son, Ronald E. Stair and fiancé , Jo Ann Huff ; grandchildren, Sheri Stair Stallings and husband Rodney; Ronald Greg Stair; great grandchildren, Camille Stair, Cody Stair and Megan Stallings; daughter, Ginger Stair Bates and husband Jim; grandchildren, Lorinda Bates and fiancé Dave Riley of Omaha, Jim Bates II of Arizona, Susan Bates Evans and husband Chuck of Cleveland; great grandchildren, Steve Landrum of Texas, Eric and Samuel Landrum of Omaha, Luke, Meryn, Laura and Julia Evans of Cleveland, Hayden Tull of Arizona; son, Gary and wife, Elezan; granddaughter, Karen Stair Hancock and husband Ben; great grandchildren, Jake Tate and wife Heidi, Ben Tate and Kendahl Hancock; grand granddaughter, Missy Stair Stiles; great grandchildren, Spencer, Saylor and Sophie Stiles; grandson, Wesley Stair and wife Tina; great grandchild Zach Stair; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Stair; many loving nieces and nephews; special friends, Lawrence and Imogene Bozeman, Lucille Reno, Bud and Georgia Allen. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home with her nephew, Rev. Eddie Earl officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 A.M. Wednesday at Roseberry Cemetery for the interment at 11:00 A.M. Grandsons and Great Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M.
