He was of the Baptist faith & a veteran of US Army having served during WWII. Preceded in death by parents, Thomas & Nora Riggs Fann ; brother, Floyd Fann & sister, Marie Stooksbury. Survived by son & daughter in law, John Jr. & Ruth Fann of Knoxville; daughter, Brenda Henry of Knoxville; granddaughter & husband, Michelle & Allen Helton of Maynardville; grandson, Aaron Hancock & 1 great granddaughter, Destiny Helton; sister, Effie Farrington of Knoxville. Family & friends will leave Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel Saturday at 10:15 a.m. & proceed to Bookwalter Cemetery for a 10:30 a.m. graveside & interment service with Rev. Bill Laroy officiating, with full military honors by East Tenn. veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, family request donations to UT Hospice 2200 Sutherland Ave. Knoxville, Tenn. 37912.
