LANCE , PETE , JR. - age 77, of Walland, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of the former Foothills Church of God. Veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during World War II, and the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by parents, Pete Sr. and Missouri Mae Curtis Lance , four sisters and four brothers. Survivors: wife, Maxine Stephens Lance ; son, Ronald Lance and friend, Ann Cousins of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Dan Watson of Walland; grandchildren, Melissa Lance of Copenhagen, N.Y., Christopher Lance of Decatur, Ga., Daniel Watson, Jr, and fiancee' Christy McTaggart of Maryville, and Jeffrey Watson of Walland; great-grandchildren, Emily Lance of Copenhagen, N.Y., Wesley Watson and Ariel Watson, both of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Mary Stephens of Newport; sister-in-law, Margaret Stevens of Maryville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 20. 2002, Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Ottis Ball and Rev. Floyd Oliver officiating. Special singing by Mrs. Radie Ball. Family and friends will meet at Grandview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
