KOONTZ , JOHN DONALD ( DON ) - age 79, passed away Tuesday morning, May 14, 2002, at Baptist Hospital. He was a loving and devoted father, and grandfather, and a lifelong Baptist, and member of First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge, Georgia. He served his country as a Marine during World War II. He retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority after 34 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; Pearlie M. and Ethel Wollard Koontz ;brothers, Clarence, J.B., and Roy Koontz . He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanda Chandler Koontz ; daughters, Donna Williams and husband, Frank of Kingston, and Judy Stewart, and husband, Harold of Knoxville. He is also survived by "favorite" granddaughter, Julia Stewart Price and husband, Bill, and six grandsons; Bradley Williams, Darren Williams, Clayton Williams, Brian Stewart, John Stewart, and Allan Stewart, and one great-grandson; Nik Price; sister, Hazel Lloyd, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Friday, Woodlawn Cemetery, Rev. Albert Barlow and the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard will conduct services. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandson-in-law.
