Jack D. Bowers -age 84 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Tennova Residential Hospice. He was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon, trustee, and treasure. He was also a member of New Providence Masonic Lodge #128 F&AM and Shriners International. He retired from the Tennessee Department of Revenue and was a graduate of Alcoa High School and the University of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korea War. Preceded in death by his parents, Hugh C. and Edna E. Bowers.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn McCammon Bowers; daughters, Sharon Bowers, Carole White and husband Phil; grandchildren, Cari Hines and husband Ryan, Collin White and fiancé Kelly Householder; special cousin, George Woodward and wife Mary; sisters-in-law; Carol Ferguson, Joyce Franklin and husband J.C.; nieces and nephew, Barbara Brown, Frances Shults, and Kory Frank.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2014, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Steve Musick and Rev. Stan Rushing officiating. The entombment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 PM Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, 982-6812.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the New Providence Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 703 West Broadway Avenue. Maryville, TN 37801.
