OGLE HENRY T. (SQUIRE) - age 82, of Knoxville (Corryton) passes away peacefully at his home Friday morning April 21, 2006. He was a prominent attorney actively practicing in Knoxville for the past 55 years. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater of operations in Field Artillery where he rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant and later promoted to Second Lieutenant and remained as an active reservist. He attended the University of Chicago, College of William and Mary, University of Tennessee, B.S. 1948 and University of Tennessee Law School, J.D. 1950. Awarded Order of the Coif in 1951, as an honor graduate of the University of Tennessee. He was a former member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City, currently a member First Baptist Church Knoxville, member of Bright Hope Lodge 557 F & AM, York Rite Commandry, Scottish Rite, and the Kerbella Shrine, served on County Commission in the 60's member of Junior Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, and Rotary International, and was instrumental in the restoration of the Old City Hall Knoxville where he was Managing General Partner. Preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Hines Ogle; son B. Tate Ogle; parents, Ben C. and Nellie (Hackney) Ogle; brother, Ben C. Ogle Jr., and sisters Mary Wolfe and Martha Novotny. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Phyllis (Wells) Ogle; daughters, Rebecca L. (Becky) Ogle, Bethesda, MD, and J. Clare Ogle, Corryton; sister-in-law Mary Frances Ogle, Raleigh, N.C.; nephews, Attorney William H. Ogle, Ormond Beach, Florida and Robert Novotny, Montclair, VA; nieces, Melissa Jessup, Chadds Ford, PA and Sue Thompson, Dallas, TX; mother-in-law, Jean Bales, Morristown and brother-in-law Dennis Wells, Morristown; and long time trusted and devoted legal assistant and friend, Charlotte Lawson, and her children, Kelly, Marty, Theresa and Stan Lawson. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday at 6:00 PM at Gentry-Griffey Chapel Dr. Calvin Metcalf officiating. Family will receive friends 3:00 - 6:00 PM Sunday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel.
