Anna Mae Walker, age 90, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born January 24, 1921, and was a founding member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William A. Walker, Jr.; parents, Will and Ida Potter; son, James R. Walker; brothers, Raymond, Elmer, Hubert, Steve, Jack, and Lawrence Potter; and sister, Bernice Garner. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Terri Walker of Sweetwater, Gary and Ruth Walker, Paul and Wanda Walker, and Donna Walker all of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Bill Eggers and Janice Norfleet of Maryville; sisters, Erma Sue (Dale) Burchfield of Alcoa, Sara Elizabeth Bruno of Indiana, Jean Everett of Maryville, and Francis (Leonard) Price of Walland; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Potter of Alabama, Loretta and Janie Potter of Maryville, Carol Potter of Hendersonville, TN, and Inez Hodge of Knoxville; brothers-in-law, Orville Walker of Alcoa and Fred Walker of Maryville; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Teresa Eggers and Ann Little. Special thanks to Blount Memorial Home Health for their great care. Funeral service will be held 4:30 PM Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the interment to follow at the church cemetery, Rev. Rex Everett and Rev. Carl White officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Gideons International (PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800) or Old Piney Grove Baptist Church Building Fund (826 Old Piney Rd., Maryville, TN 37803-3204).
