Ota Sutton Burnette Fetzer , 96, passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, William H. "Bill" Burnette and Ollie T. Fetzer ; parents, Lewis and Margaret Maddron Sutton; son, Charles W. Burnette; granddaughter, Vickie Burnette Nations; sisters, Nola Black, Ida Ogle, Ovilee Watson; brothers, Grady Sutton, Otha Sutton, Alvin Sutton; stepdaughter, Patsy McKissick; step-son, Larry Fetzer .
She was a seamstress, quilter and an avid gardener.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Helen Burnette; granddaughters and spouse, Karen and Chuck Todd and Chrissie Burnette; grandson, Wesley Nations; great-grandsons, Gregory and Landon Nations; sister, Bessie Williams; nieces and nephews, Francis Williams, Joy Rowland, Thelma Buzzell, Bentley Fetzer , Gene Fetzer , Ronald Fetzer , Charles Fetzer and Fielding Fetzer ; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral to honor the life of Ota Fetzer will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Ridley officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 until 9 p.m.
